The New European Renaissance Organisation (NERO) is a private citizens' initiative and not a legal entity. No data protection officer has been appointed, as there is no legal obligation to do so.
2. Overview
We only process personal data to the extent necessary to operate this website and to pursue the aims of the initiative. This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking tools, or social media plugins. We do not sell data and do not pass it on for advertising purposes.
3. Hosting and server log files
This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit the website, the host automatically processes information transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, referrer URL, browser type and operating system.
This data is technically necessary to deliver the website and to ensure its security and stability. The legal basis is our legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the host. The log files are stored by the host only for a limited period; we do not analyse them ourselves.
Data may also be processed in the USA. Vercel Inc. is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists (Art. 45 GDPR). Further information: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.
4. Signing up for updates
If you sign up for the newsletter (via the newsletter boxes on this website, or via the option to receive updates in the “Join the New Renaissance” form), we process your email address and, if you provide it, your name in order to inform you by email about news, activities and progress of A New Renaissance. Only the email address is mandatory; your name is used to address you personally.
Since signing up may indicate your support for a political cause, we process this data exclusively on the basis of your explicit consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) and Art. 9 (2) (a) GDPR). You give this consent by ticking the corresponding checkbox before submitting the form; it covers the processing described in this privacy policy.
Proof of consent: When you sign up, we store the time of sign-up, the page you signed up on and the fact that you consented, in order to be able to prove your consent (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 7 (1) GDPR). We do not currently send a separate confirmation email (no double opt-in); we therefore only use the email address you entered. Please enter only your own email address.
Withdrawal: You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future, by replying to one of our emails or by sending a message to johannes@anewrenaissance.com. The lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal remains unaffected.
5. Contacting us
If you send us a message by email, or submit the “Join the New Renaissance” form, we process the details you provide (in the “Join the New Renaissance” form: how you would like to get involved, the spaces you are interested in, your name, email address and an optional message) in order to respond to your request and to get in touch with you. The legal basis is your consent given by submitting the form (Art. 6 (1) (a), Art. 9 (2) (a) GDPR) or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). Submitting the form or contacting us does not add you to the newsletter mailing list unless you tick the corresponding checkbox.
6. Form and storage via Google
The forms on this website (“Join the New Renaissance” and newsletter sign-up) transmit your details to Google Apps Script; the entries are stored in a spreadsheet in Google Sheets. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Google. Your details are only transmitted to Google when you submit the form; merely opening the form, or typing an email address into a newsletter box, does not trigger any transmission.
It cannot be ruled out that data will be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, for which an adequacy decision of the European Commission exists (Art. 45 GDPR). Further information: policies.google.com/privacy.
The mailing list and the list of “Join the New Renaissance” requests are managed in the Google Sheets spreadsheet mentioned above.
7. Sending emails via STRATO
We send our emails, such as replies to enquiries and updates, from the mailbox johannes@anewrenaissance.com hosted by STRATO GmbH, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. Emails addressed to us are also received and stored there. Processing takes place on servers in Germany. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with STRATO.
Your data is not passed on to any other third parties.
8. Storage period
We store your data for updates until you unsubscribe or the initiative is discontinued; we then delete it. We keep proof of your consent (time of sign-up and, where applicable, of unsubscription) for up to three years after withdrawal in order to defend against legal claims. We delete contact enquiries and “Join the New Renaissance” requests as soon as your request has been dealt with, unless you have also signed up for updates.
9. Your rights
You have the right at any time to:
- access the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
- rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
- erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- withdraw consent given, with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where we process data on the basis of our legitimate interest, you may object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.
An informal message to johannes@anewrenaissance.com is sufficient for all of the above.
10. Right to lodge a complaint
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Bavarian State Office for Data Protection Supervision (BayLDA), Promenade 18, 91522 Ansbach, Germany, www.lda.bayern.de.
11. No automated decision-making
No automated decision-making, including profiling (Art. 22 GDPR), takes place. Providing your data is voluntary; however, without an email address we cannot send you updates.
